How to Manage Your LinkedIn Pipeline in ChatGPT with Item 12 MCP
· how-to
Connecting Item 12 MCP to ChatGPT is step one — see our ChatGPT setup guide for token and Developer mode wiring. This guide covers the daily pipeline workflow: morning inbox triage, afternoon search, and end-of-day deal updates — all from ChatGPT with Item 12 as the CRM backend.
Morning: inbox and pipeline triage
Start each ChatGPT session with: Using Item 12 MCP: list unread LinkedIn inbox threads from the last 24 hours. For each, show contact name, open deal stage, and last message preview. Flag threads on deals in Proposal or Meeting stage.
Midday: search and list build
Prospecting prompt: Search LinkedIn for Director of Sales at mid-market SaaS in EMEA. Import top 15 to list chatgpt-prospect-week32. Enrich email for contacts missing it. Do not send messages — import only.
Afternoon: move deals and add tasks
Pipeline prompt: For contacts who replied positively today, move deals to Meeting stage and add a task due tomorrow: send calendar link. List changes for my confirmation before executing writes.
Review queue check
ChatGPT can list pending review items but approval happens in Item 12 web app — open Review → batch approve agent and MCP-queued sends. Never skip review for live LinkedIn delivery.
Weekly: pipeline snapshot for standup
Monday prompt: Run pipeline_snapshot for my workspace. Show open deal count by stage, total pipeline value, and deals with no activity in 7+ days. Compare to last week's snapshot if available.
